Finally, here we are! Let's play some Dwarf Fortress! Here's how things are going to go. I'm going to be posting all the updates in this thread. I'll use this first post as an index. >> PLEASE DON'T POST IN THIS THREAD! << To make it easy to read (especially for guest members on the forum) please don't make any posts in this thread. Your involvement is of course the point of the game, but please keep that to the sister thread for this LP here: stillwater.boards.net/thread/133/lpdf-discussion-threadThat should keep things all nice and organised. For those unaware, our starting seven is as follows: Leopold - Building Designer, Pump Operator Niraia - Nurse Jandice - Engraving, Masonry Marius - Axedwarf Laria - Leatherworker Vara - A truly flattering dwarf that bites. Lasa - Knifedwarf Some of those skills are less useful than others. Still, let us begin!

~ Part 1 ~ Namnïr, "The Destined Land" And so it came to be that the great Dwarven civilization of Gébardakost, "The Lauded Floor" sent parties out across the world, destined as they were to rule over it. Heroes were plentiful, quick to answer the call of the Mountainhomes and forge glorious outposts the world over, bringing fame and fortune to those that dwelt within. Our story is not of such a place. Our story is one of cats. What drove a group of cats to travel to the place known as the 'The Warm Hills, a cold and desolate flatland may never be known. But travel they did, along with seven of their adopted dwarfs. Finding themselves thrust into this implausible situation our dwarfs did the only thing that seven dwarfs travelling to a strange land could do. Give themselves a name. And that name was 'The Excavated Constructs'. For while they did not know their destiny, nor why they were even here at all, they would follow their hearts. They would excavate. They would construct. They would build themselves a new home. And they would call it Nòmcatten, "Godchannel". The cats found this name most pleasing.

So what did our dwarfs encounter on that first morning, having arrived at The Warm Hills? Flat snowy nothingness.
